Who Is Ms. Positivi-T?

Tonya M. Cowan is the Owner of Ms. Positivi-T, LLC, which houses her services As You Wish websites|engagement|marketing, a marketing business, Designed With A Purpose cfs (aka DWAP), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that empowers young ladies and women in the community to promote sisterhood, and AdorAble Designz, an empowering apparel company that offers shirt, accessory and home good designs to inspire women.

She is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education. Her leadership, organizational and multi-tasking skills have allowed her to pursue her dream and purpose of being an entrepreneur.

With over twenty years of experience in marketing, Tonya has worked in corporate America providing marketing services to numerous clients. Tonya is also a Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM), with more than fifteen years of event planning experience. She has done events of all sizes, ranging from small intimate parties to large corporate trade shows. Her own wish was granted when she was able to take her experience in marketing and creative talents to start As You Wish wem, first brought to light in February 2018 as an event planning company. With much consideration, the decision was made to stop event planning services, and in August 2020 the focus has been on marketing for small business clients. As You Wish websites|engagement|marketing creates websites, logos, engaging content to promote brands, and manage email campaigns to name a few. Tonya is passionate about using her skills to assist small businesses with their marketing needs.

Tonya’s vision is to also empower women. As a young girl, Tonya experienced challenges of low self-esteem, acceptance and although she had a circle of friends, she still struggled to truly love herself. Fast forward to her young adult years, Tonya began to grow and mature in her life. She learned that she “is enough” and that she has a lot to offer to others. Tonya learned that we all have internal struggles and thankfully, she was strong enough to overcome her struggles with the help of God and her village of family and friend support.

Knowing the struggles she encountered as a young lady, as well as watching her own daughters encounter some of the same struggles, this led her to encourage and uplift other young ladies. As a result, Tonya started Designed With A Purpose cfs in 2018, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to empower young ladies and women in the community to be courageous in who they are, faithful in their pursuit of happiness and strong leaders in the opportunities life presents them.

2018 began the year of a movement, Designed With A Purpose cfs Annual Event. This event takes place each year on the third Saturday in October. The goal of the event is to celebrate and encourage women from all walks of life. We bring a different topic each year with speakers and/or a panel, as well as games, prizes and vendors.

Tonya also started AdorAble Designz in August 2020, which is named after and logo inspired by her daughter, whose middle name is Adora. Women and young ladies from all walks of life can visit this eCommerce store and shop empowering, inspiring and uplifting designs.
